Yesterday saw members of the Playle & Partners LLP Marketing Team attend the Surrey County Councils We Are Surrey event. The event, which brings together businesses and charities, looks to help fill local needs and partnerships within the Surrey community.

Playle & Partners LLP has worked closely with Surrey County Council for a number of years and has supplied construction services for a number of projects including ongoing works at Fordbridge Fire Station, 168 High Street Egham, Wharf Nursery, Horley Library and Woking Magistrates Court to name but a few.

As part of the Practices commitment to providing social value in the Surrey area, the Practice has organised and participated in various charitable events. One of the regular items that the Practice does, is offsets its company mileage as a way of being environmentally responsible for its business operations. Surrey County Council being aware of this, invited us to talk to the We Are Surrey attendees in the hope that many other local businesses might adopt this strategy. Samantha Howell, part of the Marketing Team who helps deliver social value, gave a short presentation as apart of their Simple Ways to Make An Environmental Impact workshop. Samantha said,”It was great to be given the opportunity to talk about how the Practice is being environmentally mindful of its activities. It’s an easy way for SMEs to get involved in looking after the environment and hopefully the short talk I gave managed to inspire other businesses to do the same.”

Playle & Partners LLP were also given a highly commended award for their contribution to social value in Surrey. Partner in attendance Paul Turner said, “This award is for the staff at the Practice. Without their willingness and giving attitude we would not have been able to do the charitable events this year. The National Three Peaks Challenge took a huge amount of personal time and individual investment and the Practice Partners are proud to have such a warmhearted workforce.”
