As part of the Building Safety Fund Playle Partners LLP have worked with Clarion Housing Group and Lawtech Construction to undertake the dismantle and removal of the external wall cladding, insulation and replacement with new façade materials, insulation, cavity barriers and components to achieve an EWS1 Form.

Undertaken as a Design and Build project Lawtech Construction prepared all designs, sought planning approval, and submitted Building Control Applications. The EWS1 Form has been prepared and issued by a specialist Fire safety expert Fraignuex.

Services

Playle and Partners have provided Project Management, Employers Agent, Quantity Surveying and CDM Advisor services from Pre-Construction through to completion of the works. We successfully negotiated the contract between Clarion Housing Group and Lawtech Group, ensuring all Employers Requirements and Contractors Proposals were in place.

Our Project Management team developed a Project Management Plan, chaired and minuted all meetings, prepared and updated Risk Registers and administered the terms of the Contract. We ensured that the progress of the works was being maintained at all times, working collaboratively with all parties to ensure a proactive approach was being adopted.

Our Cost Consultancy Team reviewed, negotiated and then reported upon the pricing submitted by Lawtech to ensure value for money was being provided, they have prepared and issued contract documents, undertaken monthly valuations and provided regular financial reports to the client. A hands-on approach has ensured any variation costs have been identified and agreed promptly with the Final Account completed shortly after the completion of the works on site.

As CDM Advisors to the client our in house team have checked the Pre Construction Information, Construction Phase Plan and F10 prepared by Lawtech Group who were also appointed as the Principal Designer.

The scheme has been very successful being completed in 56 weeks in comparison to the 52 weeks originally anticipated and within the original contract sum value.

Following the success of this scheme Playle & Partners are now working with Clarion Housing Group on 3 further schemes including major cladding and balcony replacement works at Orchard Village in Rainham.
