London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

The works comprised of the refurbishment of TP1 Teaching and Learning space to create 19 flexible teaching rooms that can accommodate differing sized teaching groups.

The 19th century main building comprises of 5 floors which include lower ground, ground, first, second and third floors. The main building is load bearing masonry with steel columns and beams.

Works were split into 2 enabling phases with a main works phase, each phase was tendered as separate projects with different Principal Contractors, and separate H&S documents issued per phase in line with CDM Regs 2015.

The scope of the remodelling entailed large scale replacement of the internal fabric, finishes and fittings.  The works included new ventilation with rooftop plant, heating and cooling through air source heat pumps (removing existing gas boilers) and new electrical services throughout.
