Stephen originally joined the Playle and Partners LLP team as a school leaver in 1999 where he commenced training as a Building Surveyor. Stephen remained at the practice until 2004. Since 2004, Stephen has gained experience through working at several construction and property consultancy’s and Clients to broaden his knowledge and skills.
Stephen returned to Playle and Partners LLP in the position of Associate Building Surveyor in 2018. In April 2020, Stephen was promoted to Partner at the Practice.
Stephen obtained his qualifications in Building Surveying through part time studies, achieving an NC, HNC and BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying at the University of Westminster. Stephen is a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building and Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.
Stephen provides Project Management, Employers Agent and Building Surveying and Client Advisory services to both private and public sector clients, from refurbishment to new build contracts. Stephen works with clients providing services from inception to completion from feasibility studies, condition surveys to major refurbishment and new builds. Stephen is very experienced in both Design & Build and Traditional contract work.
Stephen has extensive experience working with Local Authority, Housing Association and Ecclesiastical sectors. He is able to add value to his Clients through his first-hand knowledge of Client side processes, procedures, budgetary constraints and political pressures which are well understood and therefore is able to provide an informed service to his Clients.
Most recently, Stephen managed the completion of a new £3m Church and Community Centre for the Diocese of London which was the first Church constructed by the Diocese of London in 40 years. The project was featured on ITV News, the Times and Guardian newspapers.
