Last Thursday saw three of the Playle & Partners LLP team (Charlie, Sam & Afet) attend the Bexley Awards Launch night event. Last year’s winners of the Best Business for Employee Training and Development Award, we were keen to be involved in this year’s activities and help promote the real benefit behind the awards.
The launch event kicked off at the Bexley Civic offices with a drinks reception, kindly provided by Mobile Bar. Before guest speakers took to the stage, which included Councillor Linda Bailey, Claire Salmon of Ocado and previous winners, our team took the opportunity to meet local business owners and their representatives. Despite many of the businesses not being in the construction property field, attending the launch was a worthwhile exercise as it gave us the chance to find out more about what’s going on on our doorstep. Playle & Partners prides itself in being part of a thriving Bexley community and regularly looks for ways give back either through social value or by promoting local services to our staff. Afet, our youngest team member at 19 was surprised at how good the event was and that no matter what your business is you can still help each other. “When initially speaking to people from different companies I thought that they weren’t likely to have any business links to us at all, but I was impressed to find that links can be made to all types of business even ones you may not expect to. Construction is a discipline that comes into all businesses.”
